(Updated) Lois McCary Morgan Winters

Mrs. Lois McCary Morgan Winters, age 87, of Summerville, GA, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019, at a Rome hospital.

Mrs. Winters was born May 5, 1932, in Broomtown, AL, daughter of the late Rueben and Laura McCary.  She had a very loving family and 9 other siblings.  She married Elbert Morgan in 1950 and had 4 children whom meant everything to her.  She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and will be dearly missed.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Morgan; brothers, Gene McCary, Henry McCary, Lloyd McCary, and Roy McCary; sisters, Paula Williamson, Ann Fordham, and Mary Garrard.

Mrs. Winters is survived by her husband, Charles Winters; sons, and daughter-in-law, David Morgan, Wayne  and Jane Morgan; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and William Hughes; sisters, Iva McCary and Dot Robertson; grandchildren, Kyle Hughes, Tommy Morgan, Cindy Morgan; great-grandchildren, Wes Blackmon, Taylor Ozment, Alexis Hughes, Krista Ozment, Tara Morgan; great-great-grandchildren,  Emma Blackmon, Bennet Blackmon; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Winters will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 9, 2019, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Summerville Cemetery. Active pallbearers, Kyle Hughes, Wes Blackmon, Tommy Morgan, Taylor Ozment, Don McCary, Alan McCary.

Mrs. Winters will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Tuesday.
