Robert Lee Martin

Mr. Robert Lee Martin, age 82, of Trion, GA, died Saturday, July 13, 2019, at his son’s residence.

Mr. Martin was born March 13, 1937, in Lyerly, GA, son of the late Roy Allison Martin and Leila Mae Morrison Martin Johnson.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and prior to his retirement, was a self-employed plumber.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thyra Evonne Calhoun Martin; and daughter-in-law, Dee Martin.

Mr. Martin is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Robert C. (Tammy) Martin, John A. Martin; daughters and son-in-law, Deborah (Robert) Mahood, Nancy Ruth Stringer; sisters, Nina Colbert and Susie Forbes; 30 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 17, 2019, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Calhoun Family Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Lee Gardner, Daniel Benjamin, Robert DeBord, Daniel McGowan, and Jim Marbutt.  Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Colbert and Stevie Wayne Michael.

Mr. Martin will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Wednesday.
