James Franklin Burrage

Mr. James Franklin Burrage, age 79, of Summerville, GA, passed away Thursday July 18, 2019, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.     

Mr. Burrage was born June 30, 1940, in Trion, GA, the son of the late James Radford and Sadie Bell Baldwin Burrage.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Harriett and Henderson. Mr. Burrage and his wife fostered over 221 children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Burrage.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Wilma Dawson Burrage; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Rebecca Burrage, Randy and Geneva Burrage, David Burrage and Shelby Worley, John and Loretta Burrage, Jimmy Burrage, James W. Burrage, Josh and Summer C. Burrage, and Seven Burrage; sisters, Judy Tallent, Jenny Winters, and Linda Diane Kirk; grandchildren, Richard Burrage, Nathan Burrage, Jason Burrage, Chris Burrage, Joseph Burrage, Mandy Noles, Kevin Burrage, Misty Burrage, Icey Burrage, Summer Burrage, Rain Burrage, Sky Burrage, Blake Burrage, Leo Burrage, Baby John Burrage, Sophia Burrage, and Gracelynn Burrage; 12 great-grandchildren; and over 221 foster children.

Funeral services for Mr. Burrage will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, July 22, 2019, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Johnson and Rev. Mike Odom officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be Richard Burrage, Nathan Burrage, Chris Burrage, Kevin Burrage, Jason Burrage, and Joseph Burrage.  Honorary pallbearers will be all granddaughters.

Mr. Burrage will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Sunday.
