A 51-year-old Summerville resident was attacked by a dog while on Hawkins Drive around noon Friday, according to a police report. Her case makes the 23 animal bite incident reported to Chattooga County Animal Control this year.
Polly Darden was walking around Hawkins Drive when a “red dog” ran onto the roadway and bit her on the left ankle. The bit caused a small open wound in Darden’s ankle, according to Summerville Police Officer Lt. Tim Fulmer.
