John Edward Driver

Mr. John Edward Driver, age 85 of Summerville, GA passed away Friday- August 2, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Driver was born August 23, 1933 in Maryville, TN to the late John H. and Mary Lou Styles Driver. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 31 years of service, a member of the American Legion, a veteran of the United States Army, a talented musician, gospel singer, and was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Carr Driver; and son, John Michael Driver.

Survivors include his sons, David (Amanda) Driver, and Daniel (Danita) Driver; daughter, Jeanne (Ed) Flener; sisters, Mary Kathryn Driver and Josephine Baker; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- grandchild and lifelong friends Raybern & Mary Alice Ashworth.

Funeral services for Mr. Driver will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday- August 6 at the Chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Howell, Rev. Alvin Grogan, JC Grogan & Rayburn Ashworth officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery officiated by Pastor Chris Holman with military honors. Active pallbearers will be DJ Driver, Mark Jonjock, Lebron Jackson, Ryan Driver, Camron Driver, John Driver, and Nicholas Driver. Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Steagal, Doris Colter and the staff of Pruitt Hospice.

Mr. Driver will lie in-state and the family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 until the service hour.
