Copper Wiring Thief Damages Rental Houses

Two rental properties belonging to John Humphreys were damaged last week, according to Summerville Police reports.

Humphreys owns two rental houses on Allen Street and discovered that someone removed the wiring and stole the copper, according to a report.

“Mr. Humphreys stated that he was not sure how much wiring was removed from 497 Allen Street but stated that he had approximately $2,000 worth of wiring installed in 318 Allen Street and most of it had been removed,” according to a police report. “Mr. Humphreys also stated that the basement door to 497 Allen Street had been damaged.”

The incident is under investigation.
