Another Stolen Truck Located; This Time By Helicopter

A helicopter looking for entry and exit points along the Chattooga River spotted a stolen truck this morning, according to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader.

Someone stole a 2005 red Chevrolet Silverado 1500 truck from a Mahan Road residence. The truck was stolen while one of the homeowners was at the house. The thief took off with the truck without the homeowner knowing the theft was taking place outside.

Sheriff investigators have been searching for the truck. The break in the case came today while the Georgia Department of Natural Resources was using its helicopter to help map the river for the Summerville-Trion Optimist Club’s kayak race tomorrow.

While over the Pennville area, they found the truck. The truck is being turned back over to its owner. A suspect from the Fields Walk area in Pennville is being questioned.
