Albert (Pete) Dunson Jr

Albert (Pete) Dunson Jr, 76, of Ellijay, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019, as the result of injuries caused by a fall.

Born in LaGrange, GA, to the late Albert G Dunson, Sr and Florence Anchors Dunson, the family moved to Summerville, GA, where he was raised.  He graduated UGA receiving his teaching degree.  He was an athlete and played football for the Georgia Bulldogs and in Summerville played with the Regal Rifles softball team..  He taught in Chattooga, Bartow, Douglas and Cobb Counties and coached basketball, football, track, softball and golf. He had many passions, including the Georgia Bulldogs, golf, and his deep love for his dogs.

He is preceded in death by siblings, Sanford (Bubba) Dunson and Dorothy Dunson Jordan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Bill Eddy, of Summerville, his daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Neil Hutchinson, of Novi, Michigan, and his son and daughter-in-law Rob and Lauren Sayre, of Charleston, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Caitlyn, Morgan, Taylor, Kayla, Avery, Mason and Hudson, and two great-grandchildren, Trevor and Hope.

There will be no final services.
