James “Bill” Howard Stoker

James “Bill” Howard Stoker, age 91, of LaFayette passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was appointed deacon and Sunday school superintendent for many years.

Bill retired after completing 44 years of service in the Spinning Department at Riegel Mount Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Stoker; and granddaughter, Wendy Stoker Blackmon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Alice Pauline Brock Stoker of LaFayette; son, Mike (Sara) Stoker of Summerville; great grandchildren, Kenny Hogue, Tyler Hogue, Bryan Blackmon, and Amber Blackmon; grandson-in-law, Jeffery Blackmon; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2019 at LaFayette Memory Gardens with Rev. Malcolm Harris and Rev. William Harris officiating.

Pallbearers are Kenny Hogue, Tyler Hogue, Bryan Blackmon, Jeff Blackmon, Kenneth Hogue, and Cody Mitchell.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home.
