(PHOTOS) Save-A-Lot Shuts Down; Hints About A Rebirth

Save-A-Lot Grocery Store, in Summerville, closed for business on Saturday, according to a sign on the store’s front window.

“Attention customers: Saturday, August 24 will be our last day. We thank you for your patronage over the last 22 years and we hope to reopen in the near future,” the sign states.

For about two months, shelves and coolers inside the building contained sparse amounts of merchandise, canned goods, and meats. A few weeks ago, a store employee told The News that Save-A-Lot was having troubles getting trucks to bring items to the store.
