Ingles Workers Report Someone Is Passing Bad Checks

A man is traveling around the community and trying to cash bad checks, according to Summerville Police reports.

A man approached workers at the Summerville Ingles Supermarket and tried cashing bad checks.

“The subject first came in about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday and purchased $80.23 worth of items. [Ingles workers] said the subject came back a short time later and returned $60 worth of the items,” Summerville Policeman Roy Williams reported.

The customer returned on Friday and made the same type purchase followed with returning some of the items later.

“[A Ingles worker] noticed that the checks were from Capital One Credit Card and they expired in 2016,” according to reports. “The incident and all information has been turned over to investigations.”
