Johnny Eugene Gorham

Mr. Johnny Eugene Gorham, age 65, of Summerville, GA, died Monday, September 2, 2019, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Gorham was born October 4, 1953, in Trion, GA, son of Betty Jane Dillard Gorham Fortner and the late John Dewey Gorham.  He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was a millwright with International Paper.  He was also a veteran of the United States Army.  In addition to his father, Mr. Gorham was preceded in death by his step-father, James Bethel “Bet” Fortner.

Mr. Gorham is survived by his wife, Cathy Arp Gorham; son and daughter-in-law, John Kevin and Brooke Gorham; step-son, DeWayne Hogue; mother, Betty Jane Dillard Gorham Fortner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Donna Gorham, Ronnie and Phyllis Gorham; a sister, Debbie Cooper; grandchildren, Lindsey Gorham, Matthew Gorham; Corbin Hogue, and Brianna Hogue.

Funeral services for Mr. Gorham will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 5, 2019, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Russell and Rev. Brandon Bishop officiating.  Interment will follow in Lyerly Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Gorham, Casey Evans, Adam Gorham, Sonny Dillard, Tommy Dillard, and Bobby Arp.  Honorary pallbearers will be J. D. Whittle, Matthew Pickle, Jake Pickle, and Austin Montgomery.

Mr. Gorham will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday.
