Virginia Duke Walsh

Mrs. Virginia Duke Walsh, age 76, of Gaylesville, passed away Monday, September 2nd at Floyd Medical Center of Rome.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 4th at 7:PM at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Cosby officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:PM to 7:PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be 11:AM, Thursday, September 5th at Weiss Lake Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers include Gary Gordan, Seth Gordan, Colt Walsh, Caje Walsh, Bobby Collum, Ryan Wilson, Josh Smith, and Jake Smith.
Survivors include her sons, Joey Walsh of Cedar Bluff and Jeff (Stacey) Walsh of Centre; daughters, Cynthia Russell of Cedar Bluff, Tina (Gary) Gordan of Cedar Bluff, and Rena Johnson of Centre; brother, Eugene Smith of Centre; sisters, Ann Watkins of Gadsden and Janice Wilson of Centre; grandchildren, Colt (Leah) Walsh, Seth (Kendall) Gordan, and Demie Jo Johnson. 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also remaining.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Houston Duke, Fred Duke, Mack Duke, and Rick Smith.
Mrs. Walsh was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late Dwight Duke and Corine Steele. She was formerly a restaurant owner and of the Baptist faith.
