Bank Bag With $13,000-plus Lost In Summerville

A bank bag containing $13,300 in cash was lost in Summerville on Friday afternoon, according to policeman Matt Pritchard.

Tina Loggins (Blackmon), of Trion, said her father, James, had taken out a loan. The father and daughter duo made two stops that day in Summerville — Thatcher’s and Maryland’s Fried Chicken.

“I also spoke with Mr. Blackmon who stated he had the bank bag in his lap at one point. Anyone who locates the bag or knows of its whereabouts is asked to return it to or contact the Summerville Police Department,” Officer Pritchard stated.

Her dad just took out a $14,000 loan from BB&T Bank. They originally went to Maryland Fried Chicken first.

“They had a sign be closed for another week. So we decided to go to the new barbecue place in Summerville. We parked about five or six spaces down from it. I went in and order our food because my dad stayed in the car with my grandson,” Tina posted.

The grandson started crying and Mr. Loggins got out of the car to check on the small child.

“When we got home I told him to give me the pouch they gave him at BB& T with the money in it so I could put it up. When he looked down to give it to me, he didn’t see it. Then he said he must be sitting on it. So when he got out it wasn’t there. We have searched the car over. It’s gone. That was the only place he got out at, and he had to have dropped it when he got out,” Tina posted.

I’m probably telling you something you already know, but you won’t be getting the bag back. Most people are honest only when it benefits them. A bag with $14,000 in it will go a very long way in paying most people’s bills. As I’m very sorry it happened, more care should have been taken with a bag containing that much money. Good luck.

I cannot imaging someone keeping that much money and not turning it in..But the truth is IF they were going to, they would have done so by now. If they turned it in now they would have to ex
plain why they kept it for so long. And by the way did it have anything with his name on it inside the bag..?
