Woman Strikes Mailboxes And Tries Leaving
A white SUV ran off the roadway and struck several mailboxes along Woods Street on Friday night, according to Summerville Police reports.
A resident called 911 and said the SUV was in a ditch and the driver was trying to leave. Officers arrived and found 44-year-old Kimberly Perry, of Summerville, trying to leave.
“The vehicle was leaking gas from underneath it and [I] removed the driver to a safe distance. The driver was extremely incoherent and smelled of alcohol,” Officer David Westbrooks stated. “A search for intoxicants in the vehicle found a Mikes Hard Lemonade opened and spilled in the back floorboard.”
She was arrested for DUI, driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving with an expired license, leaving the scene of an accident and violation of the open container law, according to police reports.
