The Trion Lady Bulldogs ended their incredible 2019 regular season with a fantastic 19-3 record, but unfortunately, their last game before the state playoffs was a 2-1 loss to Mt. Zion. Both Pitchers led the way for their team with Trion’s Whitney Shepard pitching seven strong innings, allowing only two hits and one earned run while striking out eight. Jenna Mosley was the offense for the lady Dogs as she blasted a home run in the bottom of the seventh.
After the game, Coach Lanham had nothing but praise for his team, “Because the girls had such a strong regular season we were able to finish in the top eight of the GHSA Class-A power rating system and claim a first-round playoff bye, and this will automatically advance us to the Sweet Sixteen round of the GHSA playoffs next week.”
Trion will host the winner of the ACE Charter vs. Pelham series that will be played this week in the Class A Super 24. The game will be in Trion on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Time TBA.
