Thief Steals Part Off Church Van

A Summerville church was targeted by a thief around 1 a.m. Sunday, according to city police reports.

Cops were called to New Generation Church, at the intersection of Kirby Street and U.S. 27, after members of that congregation realized a crook took a part of the church’s white 1997 Super Wagon van. The van was used each weekend to pick up people for church. Someone, however, decided they needed the van’s catalytic converter.

The incident is under investigation, according to Summerville Policeman Matt Wilson.
