Four Arrested After Climbing Onto Dollar Store’s Roof

During the early morning hours Saturday, four teenagers climbed on top of a local dollar store’s roof, according to Summerville Police reports.

Police were dispatched at 3:41 a.m. to Dollar General, at 10551 Commerce Street, after someone noticed a teenager walking on the roof. Officer Jo Stricklin was one of the first to arrive and immediately caught two at the back of the store.

“. . . There were two other subjects on the top of the building. All subjects admitted to being on top of the building and none of the subjects had a reason for being on the building’s roof or even on the property,” Officer Matthew Wilson reported.

All four were arrested for loitering and prowling. Those arrested, according to reports, included:

  • Dallas Waymon Cunningham, 17, of Cloudland.
  • Devon Leigh Bishop, 17, of Summerville.
  • Christopher Lee Cunningham Jr., of Cloudland.
  • A 16-year-old juvenile was also arrested.
