Local Garbage Truck Driver Ok After Crash In Alabama

A Chattooga County Public Works truck hauling a load of garbage to a landfill in Alabama overturned this morning.

Antonio Hart, a county employee, was driving the transfer truck when it suddenly overturned onto its side, according to Chattooga Public Works Director Joe Reed.

“He is not hurt,” Reed said.

Hart was taken to the hospital to check for possible injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

“It looked like the driver was making a gentle turn when the trailer suddenly overturned. He wasn’t going fast. We were not overloaded or anything. We check that before we leave,” Reed said.

The crash happened near Hwy. 9 in Centre, in Alabama (near McDonald’s).
