Evelyn Gertrude Baggett Lemming

Mrs. Evelyn Gertrude Baggett Lemming, age 104 of Trion, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the Pruitt Healthcare in Lafayette.

Mrs. Lemming was born in Trion on September 4, 1915, daughter of the late George Franklin Baggett, Sr. and Lizzie Louella Skates Baggett. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ and prior to retirement, was employed in the Spinning Room at Riegel Textile Mill. Mrs. Lemming was a member of the Quarter Century Club and loved to fix hair when she was younger and loved to garden. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lemming was preceded in death by her husband, James Arville Lemming; daughter, Margaret Ann Williams; special son, JC Couey; grandson, Randy Williams; siblings, George Franklin Baggett, Jr., Thelma Guinn; Lonnie Baggett, Katie Baggett, Essie Lee Robinson, Bessie Bennett and Lemous Deering.

Mrs. Lemming is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mille and Dwight Hardin; Son and daughter-in-law, James and Carol Lemming; 5 grandchildren, James and Robin Lemming, Phil and Elizabeth Hardin, David and Nancy Williams, Terry and Paula Williams and Machele and Keith Cordell; 10 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lemming will be held Friday, November 22, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eric Williams, Terry Williams, David Williams, Austin Carnes, James Lemming, Jr. and Phil Hardin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Blake Williams, Jacob Wan, Russ Williams, and Joseph Williams.

Mrs. Lemming will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
