Christmas In The Park Is Set 6-8 P.M. Today In Summerville


The City of Summerville will to spread some holiday cheer by hosting the annual Christmas In The Park on from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today. The event will offer a new addition this year for the community’s pleasure.
As always, event goers will enjoy a visit and free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus inside the Summerville Depot. Free hot chocolate and popcorn will be served at the center gazebo for all to enjoy throughout the evening. A bonfire will be lit for the public’s warmth, free hayrides, live entertainment, drawings for a boys and a girls bicycle and a Christmas ham. The Best Dressed Elf contest will also be offered as in year’s past. The official lighting of the tree will be held at 7 p.m., with the tree being lit by the winner of the Best Dressed Elf contest. Announcement of winners for the Downtown Business Decorating Contest and Residential Decorating Contest will be announced at 7:15 p.m.
New this year, a limited amount of food, craft, and miscellaneous vendors will be onsite for the public’s enjoyment. Each craft and food vendor will donate door prizes to be given away by drawings throughout the event. Food vendors include Aaron Adams BBQ, and Sugarville Sweets. Craft vendors include Angie’s Scentsational Wax, Down-Home Textiles, Amy Price Crafts, Christie’s Creations, Paparazzi Jewelry, and more. The Spring Creek Baptist Church will be giving away free coffee and Chattooga Farm Bureau will be handing out Farm Bureau peanuts. WZQZ Radio Station will also broadcast and draw for the winner of the $991.00 following the lighting of the Dowdy Park Christmas tree.
The public is invited to enjoy all of the evening’s activities.

    My fault for not knowing this was taking place. I have been under the weather and hope to be there. I do not have anything contagious (lol 😉).
