(Updates) Police Called To Commissioner’s Office
Update: Here is the official report from the Summerville Police Department:
“On incident date and time officers of the Summerville Police Department were dispatched to the Chattooga County Commissioners Office concerning a reported assault. Upon arrival Officers Matthew Pritchard and Phillip Cox spoke with several witnesses who stated that during a county budget meeting that Abby Winters (listed offender) had poured a drink over the head of Victim.
I spoke with Victim who was Iocated in a vehicle in an adjacent parking lot who appeared to have had some type of liquid poured over her head and what appeared to have dark liquid on her red jacket.. Victim confirmed the story that the witnesses were stating.
The listed witnesses all essentially stated that just before the meeting was to start that Offender had intentionally poured some type of drink in a cup over Victims’s head who was seated at the time. According to several of the listed witnesses after this pouring of the drink occurred that Offender said something to the effect of the Victim “deserved it.” No witnesses noted any provocation or statements by Victim towards anyone immediately prior to the pouring of the drink. Two of the listed witnesses were representing news media outlets from Chattooga County in this meeting..
In attempting to speak with Offender and her husband they requested to consult with their attorney prior to answering any questions or talking with police. With the Victim and Offender now separated, officers left the scene. Officers were contacted by Attorney Chris Corbin and asked to meet with Offender and her husband at Attorney Corbin’s office. I traveled to Attorney Corbin’s office along with Det. Brian Ozment where Offender advised that she had accidentally poured the drink on victim’s head after stumbling/tripping near her.
A short time later myself and Det. Ozment spoke with Victim who essentially confirmed witnesses stories about the events that occurred. Victim was in attendance as a news media reporter. Victim stated that in previous public meetings such as this one that she did not recall ever seeing Offender in attendance. Victim further stated that for a few moments after the drink was poured on her she was just in shock and that she recalled someone stating that the drink looked good on her. Victim desired for criminal charges to be pursued.
Based on the statements of multiple witnesses and the victim, I applied and obtained warrants for Disorderly Conduct and Simple Battery against offender and turned them over to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office. Det. Ozment contacted Offender’s attorney to notify him of the pending warrant so that Offender could arrange to turn herself in on the charges .”

Earlier……
As the Chattooga County Commissioner was beginning his public meeting, his wife dumped a large cup of soda on the head of a local resident.
Casie Bryant, with All of Georgia internet site, was sitting at a large table at the commissioner’s office when Abbey Winters poured the liquid on Bryant’s head.
“You deserve that,” Mrs Winters said.
Bryant grabbed her belongings and left. Mrs. Winters also left the meeting room.
The Summerville Police were called to check into the matter but at this time no charges have been made.
More to come on this developing story. . .
Press charges Casie
This is uncalled for. Charges should be filed!
Summerville police why are there no charges
Some people believe because their significant other holds an amounty of athourity they can get away with being rude in public…. Karma can be a B****.
What? And why in this world did she behave in this manner?
Get
Need to get rid of noth Mr&Mrs ruining chattooga county Winters.he has put this county in so much debt.just like Obama’s did the USA
Debt increased under Obama when the US was in the worst recession since the great depression. The deficit continues to grow at +7% annually under the current administration with economic growth @ ~+2% and unemployment @ ~3.5%. Basic economics would teach us to expand the balance sheet in times of hardship and contact the balance sheet in times of prosperity, no?
Good deal she deserves to be charged if it was anyone else we would have been charged immediately
Great job SPD Thank you for your service
When are you people going to wake up and get this left wing snowflake out of office, he has done nothing for this county except watch the elderly and fixed income citizens suffer due to higher tax rates and garage fee’s , unless you credit him for the purchase of a theater and paradise gardens just for a little revenue from liberal fairies. And you know he condones this repulsive act his wife has done, I guess it’s all good if you’re in his good ol boy circle, if not he has no time or true interest in your problems, that is if he identifies as a good ” ol boy” at the time. He has got to go! I would be commissioner for half his salary and keep the county out of debt. I also would like this in soundoff.
Thanks

Replacing a corrupt “snowflake” with a person of similar ilk does what for the citizen?
Grow up people its just coke you can wash your hair no need for anyone to be arrested over a little argument and some poured coke. To be honest Summerville police need to be fighting to war on meth not responding to poured Coca-Cola.
Easy to say when it wasn’t your head the coke was poured on
Seriously? What if it had been you or someone you loved. Still not a biggie?
Couldn’t agree more!!
If u watch the video jason winters is the first to say she brought it on her self he needs to be removed from office his budget is a joke he is a joke and has been for years
the correct website is All ON Georgia, not All of Georgia
How childish but funny. Yet so petty to file crimi Al charges. People have become so petty.
…. pouring a drink on someone is petty…. and deserves the charges.
Agree!!
Looks like the County Commissioner’s wife may have bought herself some serious legal trouble. As a member of the news media for over four decades, I can assure you that had it happened to me, I would also be prosecuting the woman. Behavior such as this is totally out of order and reveals a more serious problem than an angry Commissioner’s wife—-it shows a total disregard for proper public behavior and a lack of respect for the news media. The young lady was only doing her job—-and that is more than can be said about the Commissioner’s wife.
I find it unconscionable and unbelievable that after all the coverage by the Chattanooga news outlets, you people still haven’t posted an update to this story. Still sleeping? Wake up and do your job?
Omg … What a shame she didn’t jus bust her in the mouth and actually had a legit reason to go to jail… SMH went to jail for a drink LORD HELP!!.. charges should be dismissed (my opinion)…
What kind of degenerate person wishes someone would have their mouth busted?
@Teri The most degenerate one. @Pamela is inviting all of us to pour drinks on her with no legal ramification. Sign me up!
What kind of ghetto trash wishes someone would get busted in the mouth instead of drenched with soda?
Sheesh, woman! Tone down the white trash a little.
I read this and continue to be appalled at the treatment afforded our press, they have a job to do, and under the current circumstances where they as a whole are being referred to as the “enemy of the people”, this simple act is more then what it appears. it is a symptom, and it is very unfortunate, both the woman and the husband should be asked to publicly apologize, pay for a spa day for the young lady (at the VERY least), and he should consider resigning.
Lenderman for commissioner he has my vote
I do not know the arrested person, Ms. Winters, the victim, Ms. Bryant, nor Commissioner Winters. I have, however, read about this incident on several social media news sites. How embarrassing for Chattooga County that a spouse of an elected official would behave in such a manner toward someone performing her job. I’ve never read one word written by Ms. Bryant nor by anyone representing “ALL ON GEORGIA”. My understanding is it is a form of news media. When people physically attack those who report need then our society is in trouble. I don’t care which side (Left, Center, Right) the media leans towards but our nation depends upon Freedom of the Press. If you disagree, imagine a nation with only state-run media as in North Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, etc.
The writers of the Constitution placed that right in the 1st Amendment for a reason!
Sorry. I didnt catch an autocorrect resulting in a typo. It should read:
“When people physically attack those who report news then our society is in trouble.”
