Jimmy Doyle Peace

Mr. Jimmy Doyle Peace, age 87 of Trion, Georgia passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Peace was born in Trion, Georgia on February 4, 1932, son of the late James Otis Peace and Johnnie Cecil Middleton Peace. He was a member of the North Summerville Baptist Church, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was retired from Inland Container. Mr. Peace enjoyed woodworking and when he was younger, he loved to bowl. In addition to his parents, Mr. Peace was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Pressley and a brother, Harry Loyle Peace.

Mr. Peace is survived by his wife of 67 years, Celia Newsome Peace; daughters, Sally Davis and Cindy Peace; son and daughter-in-law, James A. “Biff” and Kathryn N. “Kitty” Peace; grandchildren, Brian Chandler, Leigh Chandler Todd, Michael Crabtree, Jimbo Crabtree, Stacy Crabtree, Eric Peace, Ashley Peace and Collin Peace; 19 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Peace will be held Monday, December 23, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Brian Chandler, Michael Crabtree, Jimbo Crabtree, Stacy Crabtree, Eric Peace and  Collin Peace.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the great grandchildren.

Mr. Peace will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
