Lyerly Is Looking At New Park Playground Equipment

The Town of Lyerly continues to look at installing new playground equipment in its park on Hwy. 114.
The Menlo-Tillotson program gave the town a $20,000 grant to help buy the equipment.
“It’s going to cost $60,000,” Lyerly Mayor Jim Ferguson said. “It’s insanely expensive. It’s unbelievable.”
Some playground equipment for the public sells for almost $200,000. But the mayor has found a $60,000 version.
“It’s crazy. It’s just pipes and boards,” the mayor said.
He said it will be next year before the town can afford it.
