Both Chattooga and Trion Win Wrestling Dual State Championship
The Chattooga Indians are the 2019-2020 GHSA Class AA Team Dual Wrestling State Champions. In the finals Chattooga defeated Social Circle 59-21.
In the three day wrestling tournament held at the Macon Centrplex, Chattooga defeated Bremen 59-24 and Elbert County 45-27 to advance to the finals.
Since the wrestling program was founded at CHS in 1988, Chattooga has crowned several individual state champions but this is the school’s first team championship in wrestling and only the schools second team championship in all sports. Chattooga’s only other team state championship came in 1988 when the Lady Indians won the GHSA AAA Girls Basketball title.

Trion Wrestling Wins Class A Dual Title
After coming so close in the past few years, the Trion Bulldogs are finally state champions. The Bulldogs are the 2019-2020 GHSA Class A Team Dual Wrestling State Champions. In the finals Trion defeated Commerce 46-25. Commerce had won the past six Class A Dual State Championships.
In the three day wrestling tournament held at the Macon Centrplex, Trion defeated Landmark Christian 66-6 and Mt. Pisgah Christian 42-22 to advance to the finals.
This is Trion’s second team state championship in wrestling. The Bulldogs won the 1994 Class A Traditional Championship. However, this is the Bulldogs first Dual Championship since the GHSA began holding the Dual tournament in 2002.
