Someone Tried Breaking Into Local Apartment

A Maplewood Drive resident said someone tried breaking into her apartment around Sunday night, according to Chattooga County Sheriff’s reports.

Hattie Dentmen said the burglar tried entering during the nighttime.

” Mrs. Dentmen advised me that it appears that someone had pulled the screen door on the rear of the apartment so hard it broke the lock plate for the screen door. I did observe half of the lock plate for the screen door on the floor. There was only damage to the lock plate for the screen door not to the actual screen door or the door for the rear of the apartment. Mrs. Dentmen also advised me that she would like extra patrol for the next few nights due to this incident and a report for the property manager,” Deputy Daniel Sanford reported.
