City Sets Distribution Schedule For Free Bottled Water
The city of Summerville continues to give away free bottled water to its customers affected by the local state of emergency that was declared on Monday night.
The EPA found a manmade chemical in Raccoon Creek that could cause health problems after prolonged exposure. The city gets a majority of its water from that creek in Berryton. Since then, the city has offered to giveaway water to customers.
Customers can get their free water during these times:
Thursday until 6:00 p.m.
Friday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
There is a limit of one case per household.
Although the bottled water is limited, the city has not limited the free water available in the tanker trucks outside city hall on Cox Street. People can bring their own jugs and coolers for that water. It’s also available until midnight each day.
