Huge Pipe Pops Up From Underneath Roadway

Chattooga County Public Works employees are monitoring a large drainage pipe that has popped out from underneath Creekside Drive near Trion this morning.

The pipe was forced from underneath the road by heavy rains that have fallen overnight and this morning.

Public Works Director Joe Reed said the county would replace the pipe once waters went back down. A water line was also snapped into by the six-foot-plus circumference drainage pipe that popped into the air.

Water services in that area around Creek Side Drive and Tate Road are slowly being restored.

Berryton Bible Mission Christian Center is surrounded by rainwater. The church is located off Raccoon Creek Road in Berryton.
