Dies December 22, 2019

H.D. “Bub” Cooper, 72, died December 22, 2019.

Bub was born on June 20, 1947 to Ted and Elsie Dempsey Cooper in Summerville. Bub graduated from Trion High School in 1965 and the University of Georgia in 1969. He went on to serve in Vietnam that same year after graduating in 1969. Bub worked in real estate, enjoyed auctioneering and his pine straw business. He loved his family dearly and found abundant joy spending time with his beautiful grandchildren, Luke and Lo. He cherished each day that he had on this earth. He always said, “Today is a good day because I have been given another day”. His positivity and fun-loving personality radiated to everyone he knew and met. His legacy will always be his positivity that he showed throughout his life.

His mother and father, Ted and Elsie Cooper died earlier.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Wanda Cooper; son, Matt (Stephanie) Cooper; daughters, Leigh Ann (Tim) Kay and Wendy (Ronald) Harris; grandchildren, Luke and Lo Cooper; sisters, Joan DuBois and Ann Ward; nephews, Rob DuBois and Jeff Ward; nieces, Missy Braswell and Melody Davis and uncles Tab and Buddy Dempsey.

Funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Hutch Garmany officiating.

Interment took place in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Ash, Luke Cooper, Rob DuBois, Trey DuBois, Mason DuBois, Ronald, Harris, Tim Kay, Sam Talley, Mike Wright and Colby Wood. Honorary pallbearers are Ben Potts, Bruce Potts, Rick Potts, and Jeff Potts.
