Suggested Water Filters Won’t Work
Filters being recommended to remove two particular man made contaminates won’t work, according to new information released at tonight’s Summerville City Council meeting.
During the ongoing health advisory for Summerville water customers, the Georgia EPD recommended using ANSI 53 grade filters, according to City Manager Janice Galloway.
Those filters won’t work unless the manufacturer specifically says they remove PFOS and PFOS contaminates, said Mike McGill, CEO of Water PIO, a consulting firm.
McGill and Mayor Harry Harvey said they drink the city’s water and it’s fine. The two man made chemicals only pose an elevated chance for cancer (like 1 in a million) after prolong use, McGill said.
So is 69 years considered prolong use???
Are we looking into how those chemicals got into our water in the first place, Filtering it out may not be the biggest problem we have. Clean water should be our number one Priority..!!
I work at Mohawk in Summerville and they’re telling us the water from the filtered water coolers is safe to drink.
The water they drink today may not affect them till years down the road City of Summerville needs to find where is this man made poison is coming from.
Stop the bull $$%%
How can you say that. Would you let your mother drink that water? I will not be drinking that water or nor will I let my family drink that water. Elections will be determined buy the best and only solution to this problem!
Oh ok it’s only a small chance of getting cancer so just shut up and drink it ok thanks a lot that sounds lovely.
Summerville water should have been investigated years ago.
