Dies March 4, 2020
Chip DeFoor, 51, Summerville, died March 4 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome.
Chip was born on Dec. 23, 1968, in Floyd County, son of the late Everette Louis DeFoor, Sr. and Edna Jeanette Hughey DeFoor. Chip was a resident of Summerville, at Daily Care of Summerville for 17 years in the care of Brenda Veatch. In addition to his parents, a sister, Cindy DeFoor and brother, Steve DeFoor died earlier.
Surviving are brothers, Lane DeFoor and his wife Jennie and Zane DeFoor and his wife Janie; sister, Angie Garland and her husband Cal; aunts and uncle, Nettie Lou and Norman Hollingsworth, Hazel DeFoor and Pat DeFoor; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services were held on Sunday from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Pickern officiating. Interment followed in Gordon Memorial Gardens with Bart DeFoor in charge of graveside rites.
Pallbearers were Ricky DeFoor, Josh DeFoor, Tim DeFoor, Chad DeFoor, Bart DeFoor, Brian Garland, Drew Garland, and Pierce Garland.
