Christina Hurley, 49, Trion, died Sunday.
A 1988 graduate of LaFayette High School, Christina worked 15 years for H&R Block in Summerville and was a substitute teacher for the Walker County School System. She proved that strong determination and will is far more important than a strong body and never allowed her troubles get her down.
Her parents, Steve Layman and Paulette Henderson and brother, Gerald Layman died earlier.
Surviving are her husband, Keith Hurley; daughter, Landi (Zac) Shaver; sons, Aaron (Vivian) Hurley, Michael Hurley and Noah Hurley; grandchildren, Addison Shaver, Zayden Shaver, Laken Shaver, Luke Hurley, Layne Hurley and Lyla Hurley; brothers, Kent Laymon and Kirk (Kim) Laymon; stepfather, Johnny Henderson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastors Jeff Shaver and Steven Harthorn officiating. Interment was at Chattooga Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roger Auman, Glenn Blackwell, Phillip Hurley, Dennis Cagle, Eddie Hegwood, Mike Jones, and Tony Pinion.
Honorary pallbearers were the ladies of H&R Block of Summerville.
Arrangements was by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
