Dustin K. Long

Dustin Keith Long, age 25 of Lyerly, GA passed away unexpectedly Saturday- June 20, 2020.

Mr. Long was born January 31, 1995 in Rome, GA to James R. Watkins and Shanika A. Long. He was a Christian and was employed by Smith Iron Works. He was a talented welder and enjoyed riding motorcycles with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by Watson Craig, Ed DeBerry, and Virgie Buffington.

Survivors include his mother, Shanika A. Long; father, James R. Watkins; brother, Damian Watkins; “Nanny” Kathy Craig; grandparents; Mike & Tammy Long, and Ray & Linda Watkins; uncles, Tim DeBerry, Mark Long, Tony Blalock and Eugene Long; and several cousins also survive.

Graveside and Interment services for Mr. Long will be held at 11:30 AM Friday- June 26, 2020 at Lyerly Cemetery with Mr. Ray Watkins officiating. Social distancing will be required.

Pallbearers will be Damian Watkins, Tony Blalock, Cole Long, Tim DeBerry, Corey Tibbs, and Brandon Hastings. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sharrod Peek, Tyler Noles, JD Whittle, Tray Foster, and Mike Hastings.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:20 Friday. The family requests the pallbearers to wear pink shirts and the honorary pallbearers to wear blue shirts to honor Mr. Long.

There will be a motorcycle procession leaving Mason Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Motorcycle riders are asked to assemble outside at Mason Funeral Home at 10:50 AM. Due to Covid-19 guidelines, all others that wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
