Evelyn Lee Mathews Braddy
Evelyn Lee Mathews Braddy, age 87 of Trion, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 at the residence of her daughter in Cartersville, Georgia following an extended illness.
Mrs. Braddy was born in LaFayette, Ga. on October 10, 1932, daughter of the late Jesse M. Mathews and Bessie Hobbs Mathews. She was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her family and being with her grandchildren. Mrs. Braddy passed away on the 70th anniversary of her and Bro. James wedding date. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Braddy was preceded in death by her husband of over 66 years, Rev. James Braddy; son, James Timothy “Timmy” Braddy, and a granddaughter, Haley Griers.
Mrs. Braddy is survived her daughters and son-in-law, Lynn and Chuck Barnett, and Susan Pope; grandchildren, Jeff Young, Lori Young Casey, Brian Cobb and Jason Braddy, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside and Interment services for Mrs. Braddy will be held Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. in the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Young, Brian Cobb, Tylor Cobb, Jason Braddy.
Due the COVID-19 threat to the community, there will be no public visitation.
