Second Royal Ball Is A Sell Out
The second Royal Princess Ball of 2018 was a sellout at the Chattooga County Library in Summerville today.
The $10 entrance fee is worth the smiles and entertainment, according to parents.
The Royal Ball has become a popular hit that the library needs two days to fit everyone into the building. This is the fourth year for the event.
The library can only accommodate about 60 people.
The event started with Chattooga County High School Chorus Director Jason Hall blowing a horn to introduce each child into the room. Each child then posed with a group of Disney Princesses.
Some of the princesses on hand included: Mulan, played by Marie Stephens; Elsa, played by Kaitlyn Montgomery and a princess played by Rees Davis.
The library feeds the kids a royal meal consisting of items like: golden nuggets, magic fruit wands, princess popcorn, fairy tale princess cake and sparkling royal water.
After eating, the crowd breaks into groups and each participate in various crafts and other activities.
Then to end the evening, the children get to dance at the royal ball. Then the clock strikes and the princesses all run away.
The ball is for both young princesses and princes ages 12 and under. At least one parent needs to accompany.
Ticket prices are $10 a ticket and $5 a ticket for additional siblings. One parent is admitted for each $10 ticket. (A parent with more than one child attending must pay the $10 price for the second ticket in order for a second parent to attend). Each year there are a limited number of seating for this event and tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis.
