Scam: Man Offered Software Deal
Someone tried selling bogus software package to a Summerville man Monday afternoon, according to an incident report.
Benjamin Love said a caller tried selling him software for his computer. Love said he lives on a fixed income and could not afford the software.
“[The caller] told Love that he was going to lock down his computer and he did. Love said he can’t do anything with it and that it is completely locked up and it is going to cost him $40 to $50 at the Computer Shop to get it unlocked,” Summerville Policeman Roy Williams stated.
