Possible Coyote Spotted At A Local Recreation Center

A possible coyote was spotted at the Summerville Recreation Center around 12:33 a.m. Thursday, according to a Summerville Police report.

A caller told a 911 dispatcher that there’s “possibly a coyote crossing the street,” from the Saratoga Way apartment complex on Hwy. 100 toward the city of Summerville’s Recreation Center.

“[I] performed a roving patrol of the area but was unable to locate any animal,” Officer Gary Pruitt said.

Summerville Recreation Director Bo Chamlee said he’s never spotted a coyote at the recreation center.
“Deer come across there a lot. I’ve never seen a coyote in the city limits as far as running wild,” the recreation Director said. “I’ll be looking out for that thing.”
