Mother And Son Arrested On Drug Charges

A mother and son were jailed yesterday after cops found them with various types of drugs, according to Summerville Police Detective Ty Hutchins.

Neighbors were noticing a lot of traffic at one Devon Wood Apartment in Summerville and called the police. Drugs agents, the detective and a probation officer checked on the apartment and talked with the occupants — 44-year-old Danielle Marie Rape and her 24-year-old son Riley Allen Jeffrey O’Brien.

“I asked O’Brien if he had any marijuana and he stated that he did and it was located under his bed in a safe. O’Brien stated he had about an ounce,” Det. Hutchin said.

While the detective was talking with O’Brien, Chattooga County Sheriff’s Drug Agent Caine Railey was in the living room talking with the mother.

An Amphetamine pill and an Alprazolam pill were located in Rape’s pocketbook.

“Agent Railey located a cellophane wrapper with suspected marijuana and several partially smoked blunts that contained suspected marijuana in the living room area. Rape stated that she did not have a prescription for the Amphetamine pill or the Alprazolam,” Det. Hutchins stated.

Rape was jailed for possession of a scheduled II and IV drug and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. O’Brien was jailed for possession of Oxycodone, possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, distributing marijuana and possession or use of drug-related objects.
