Georgia Enters Final Week of Early Voting

ATLANTA – Today marks the final week of early voting for July 24th general primary run-off. Secretary of State Brian Kemp reminds Georgians that they can vote early in the State’s party primary run-off contests at pre-determined times and locations (available online) through Friday, July 20th. So far, Georgia voters have cast 99,202 early ballots in the July 24th contests.

“We have less than one week left of early voting for our State’s party primary run-offs,” explained Secretary Kemp. “Voters have yet another chance to get to the polls and make important decisions on who will represent their respective parties in November. Let’s be sure to take full advantage of the right to choose our leaders on this and every opportunity.”
Georgians who have already cast a Democratic or Republican primary ballot can only vote in that same party’s primary run-offs. If you did not vote in the primary, or if you cast a non-partisan ballot, you can vote in either political party’s run-offs. Republicans will have run-off contests for Governor; Lieutenant Governor; Secretary of State; and State House Districts 19, 36, 97, 102, 105, and 141. Democrats can vote in run-offs for U. S. House of Representative Districts 6 and 7; State School Superintendent; and State House Districts 111 and 144.
July 24th is the date of the general primary run-off. Polls will open at 7:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM. Voters can find their polling location and view a sample ballot on the Secretary of State’s “My Voter Page” or the “GA SOS” app. The general election date is November 6th. Other important election dates are available on the Elections Division website.
