Arsonist Strikes Trion Home

ATLANTA, GA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens said an arson investigator with his office has ruled a Wednesday, July 25 mobile home fire in Chattooga County arson.
The fire, which occurred around 1:45 p.m., at 1311 Airport Road in Trion, Ga., originated in a bedroom of the home. Investigators determined that a flammable object was thrown through a window and a second fire was started underneath the house, Hudgens said. The blaze heavily damaged the vacant residence.
Commissioner Hudgens is asking anyone with information about this fire to call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804. Rewards of up to $10,000 are given for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist. Calls are taken 24 hours a day; callers can choose to remain anonymous.
