Shoplifter Steals Multiple Bags Of Halloween Candy

A shoplifter stuffed multiple bags of Halloween candy into her purse Friday afternoon and fled the Dollar General store located on Commerce Street in Summerville.

Store manager Amanda Coley said a “spikey hair” woman in her late 50s or early 60s entered the store with an empty purse. When the shoplifter left, however, her purse was filled with candy, according to a Summerville Police report.

“Coley further stated that she observed the woman to have multiple bags of Halloween candy sticking out of her purse shortly before leaving the store,” Officer Gary Pruitt stated.

The woman got into the passenger side of a burgundy Nissan Altima with a Marks Auto Sales drive-out tag and left.
