County Lifts Boil Water Advisory

The Chattooga County Water District Number One has lifted its water boil advisory.

The advisory was for only a small portion of its water system. A water main break in front of Mountain View Baptist Church, off Mountain View Road, Trion, created low-to-no water pressure. The areas affected were the Mountain View community, residence along Spring Creek Road and Butler Dairy Road.

The lack of water pressure made it necessary for the county to implement the boil advisory for at least 24 hours. The biological tests, mandated by the state EPD after low-pressure situations, came back negative and presented no problems, officials said. As of 10:30 a.m. today, the boil advisory has been lifted.
