Art Camp Registration Coming Up

Registration is now open for the Fall Folk Art Camp coming up this October at Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden.

Camp will be held during the Chattooga County schools’ Fall Break, October 8-12, from 10 am until 3 pm, with an early drop off option available.

This camp will be lead by Cameron Cook, who led the Young Artists Workshops last spring, along with the Summer Art Camp over the summer.  Each day she will be joined by a new guest teacher, each a professional artist from around the Southeast, who will teach the kids a unique project.

Guest teachers include famous folk artists and some Finster Fest favorites, such as Peter Loose, Kip Ramey, and Tex Crawford, along with favorite art teachers from Summerville and Atlanta, and a college professor from Ga Highlands.  If you have a child who is interested in art, this will be a wonderful opportunity for them to meet these artists, and to be able to learn from them and work with them, all in the remarkable environment of Paradise Garden.

Camp will also include some free time, some lunchtime, and some outside play time.  The camp is for ages 7-14, and is $75 for the week (Chattooga county residents and members) or $90 for the week for not-yet-members.  Can’t attend the full week but still want to attend?  Call us and we will see if we can work with your schedule. At the end of the week, on October 12, Paradise Garden will host a Folk Art Reception in the Visitor Center featuring all of the campers creations.  This will be open to the public to attend and will start at 5:30 pm.  Please call Paradise Garden to register for Fall Folk Art Camp, at 706-808-0800.
