Clark William Nicklow, Jr.

Clark William Nicklow, Jr., 78, of Aurora, WV, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Oakland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Oakland, MD.

Born August 19, 1939, in Terra Alta, WV, he was the son of the late Clark William Nicklow, Sr., and Ella Marie (Filsinger) Nicklow; He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janet Sisler and a special nephew, Harlen Kemphfer, Sr.

Clark was a coal miner and was employed by Island Creek Coal Company, retiring from there July 1, 1996. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from October 1957 to July 1961. He enjoyed spending his spare time going to auctions and flea markets.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Connie (Baker) Nicklow; a son, Clark W. Nicklow III, Aurora; a daughter, Kathryn D. Browning (Gene), Bruceton Mills, WV; a sister, Carolyn Nicklow, Summerville, GA; three grandchildren, Christopher, Danielle and Samantha Browning; a great-grandson, Russell Joseph Baird III; aunt, Eleanor Fearer, Friendsville, MD; Mary K. driver, whom was like a sister, Summerville, Ga a niece that was like a daughter, Donna (Kemphfer) Moats (Jerome), Hutton, MD; her children, Harlen Kemphfer (Jeannie), Aurora and Heather Shapiro (Jason), Oakland; her grandchildren, Tucker Kemphfer, Aurora; Hillary and Logan Shapiro, Oakland; two nephews, whom he spent a lot of time with and held a special place in his heart, Jerry Kemphfer, Albright, WV and Hayward “Bunky” Baker, Aurora; several other nieces and nephews.

Clark was donated to the WVU Human Gift Registry a private memorial service will be held at a later time.
