Florene Smith

Florene Smith, age 81 of Summerville, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Smith was born in Walker County, Georgia on May 13, 1936, daughter of the late Alvin L. Lowrance and Cora Williams Lowrance. She was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and was formerly employed with Barwick Mills. She loved to travel, loved going to the fountain of youth in St. Augustine to see the peacocks. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Smith, daughters, Sherry Smith, Connie Smith, brothers, Herman Lowrance, Tom Lowrance, sisters. Jewell Brown, Mildred Haynes, grandchild, Heather Rogers and a great grandchild, Jackson.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters, Brenda Mason, Betty White, Darlene Smith; sons, Steve Rogers, Wayne Rogers, special life-long friend, Frances Evans, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Smith will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. DeWayne Teague, Rev. Robert Patterson and Rev. Mike Odom officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Allen Brown, Paul Brown, Richard Lowrance, Josh Rogers, Tony Floyd and Ken Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Tapestry Hospice, Kathy Worley, Dianna Evett and LaChrisha Simmons.

Mrs. Smith will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 p.m.
