Edward Leon Campbell

Edward Leon Campbell, age 75, of Summerville, GA, died Friday, August 10, 2018, at Redmond Medical Center.

Mr. Campbell was born October 9, 1942, in Chickamauga, GA, son of the late Billy Jo Harvey Campbell and Ruby Tinker Campbell.  He attended Four Mile Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed as a truck driver with Shaw Industries.  Mr. Campbell was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ronnie Campbell and Billy Campbell; a sister, Brenda Story; and a brother-in-law, Eddie Reed.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Bernice Silvers Campbell; a son, Mark Wilson; sisters, Doris Reed and Jane (Steve) Osborn; grandchildren, David Wilson, Savannah Wilson, Benji Wilson, Paula Wilson, and Kyler Wilson; great-grandchildren, Alex Wilson, Aden Powell, Esten Powell, and Skylar Wilson.

Funeral services for Mr. Campbell will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Redden and Rev. Doyle Kelly officiating.  Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.  Pallbearers will be Michael Reed, Casey Brown, Keith Whitlock, William Whitlock, Kip Wooten, and Edward Tidmore.

Mr. Campbell will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday.
