Man Jumps Up And Flees In Woods

Richard Edwards, who lives just inside Cherokee County, Ala., said he had a strange encounter Saturday afternoon, according to Chattooga County Sheriff’s reports.

Edwards was walking around his property tagging trees that needed cutting when he saw a white male suddenly stand up in the woods and take off running, Deputy Marvin Armstrong III reported.

“Mr. Edwards advised that he had heard a gunshot just moments before he had seen anyone move in the woods. Mr. Edwards advised that he started to yell at the subject and tried to catch up with him but could not make contact with the male subject. Mr. Edwards advised that he would like to have a report just in case something happened or if the started having problems,” Deputy Armstrong stated.
