Fire Strikes At Hartline Street Home

A dryer is being blamed for a fire that destroyed a Summerville home on Sunday afternoon, according to Chattooga County Sheriff’s reports.

The home belonged to Jane and Johnny Rollins. A dryer was left running while everyone was away.

“The fire started in the utility room on the carport where the dryer was located. Ms. Rollins, did state that the home was insured through State Farm,” Deputy Derek Mitchell reported.
