(Update) Power Outage Knocks Out Tax Office Computers

(Update: The tax commissioner’s computers in her office are operational again. )

A power outage in Summerville has affected the computers at the Chattooga County Tax Commissioner’s Office.

Georgia Power is currently assessing the condition of the outage that is affecting areas around Farrar Drive, Old River Road and Virginia Drive. About 123 customers are without power, according to Georgia Power.

Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton said her office has power, but the computer system has been affected by the power glitch. She will notify the public when her system is back in operation.
