Trion Police Reports. . .


A Trion investigator spotted a man snorting drugs in Mount Vernon Mills’ parking lot on April 2, according to reports.
Investigator D. Blackmon spotted Jacob Ray Wooten get into a vehicle around 2:24 p.m. and then ingest “an unknown substance through his nose off of what appeared to be a dollar bill.”
The investigator then went to talk with Wooten and immediately smelled marijuana at the vehicle.
“Wooten stated he had a marijuana roach in his vehicle but nothing else,” Deputy Blackmon stated.
While searching Wooten, the investigator found suspected methamphetamine in a watch pocket, according to a police report.
Wooten was arrested for possession of meth, according to jail records.

“While speaking with Wooten, he was found to be in possession of a clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine and a dollar bill also containing suspected methamphetamine. Wooten was placed under arrest and transported to the Chattooga County Jail,” according to Trion Police Chief David Gilleland.

In a different arrest, Trion police nabbed a 21-year-old for meth, according to reports.

On April 12, 2019, Trion Investigator Dexter Blackmon, Drug Agent Brian Tucker, and Agent Caine Railey were conducting a follow-up investigation concerning a female who was distributing methamphetamine at The Express Inn. During the investigation Inv. Blackmon observed a female walking toward a car that was parked behind the motel. The female did not stop at the car but continued behind the motel. Inv. Blackmon and Agent Railey then made contact with Haley Mccool.

“While speaking with Mccool, she stated that she did have some methamphetamine in the bag she was carrying. McCool was found to be in possession of a clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine and a suspected methamphetamine pipe. McCool was placed under arrest and transported to the Chattooga County Jail,” Chief Gilleland stated.
